The children were already eagerly awaiting Santa by this point, who, sure enough, appeared on the farmyard after everyone had eaten together, with Santa’s little helper in tow. The children were very surprised that St Nick knew so much about every one of them. Then, when they were presented with a sack full of sweets, their eyes lit up. A cinema voucher was hidden in every sack, as a little something special. Nicole Schanz and her sister Sarah Schanz chaperoned the whole afternoon, as well as our in-house counsellor Matthias Keck, who looked after the children’s well-being. |
A residential group were the proud recipient of another community gift in 2015. The joy amongst the children and young people from the Hofgarten residential group was palpable, when Nicole Schanz, Managing Director, and Sarah Schanz presented five new bikes worth €2000 euros on behalf of WS Weinmann & Schanz GmbH. Safety helmets for the kids and young people did not go amiss of course. Every resident also received a Christmas sack. |
We were eagerly awaiting the kids’ greetings cards that they made themselves, which they used to tell us what present they would like the most. Whether it was a bookshelf, a stunt roller, a remote-controlled car, a comic books or a handbag - Nicole Schanz was more than happy to buy the presents, that were each worth €50. The children were able to unwrap their presents at a Christmas party that the residential groups organised. Sarah Schanz and Matthias Keck received a warm welcome that afternoon and were able to experience the kids’ moments of joy with them when they received the packages. We also gave the kids something to look forward to in 2016. As this year the Balingen I and II residential groups are off on another two-day trip together. We will spend the first day in Europapark, where we will also be staying overnight in log cabins. The next day we are off again to the Galaxy waterpark in Titisee in the Black Forest. |
