Leisure
We also had a weekend in the summer of 2015 filled with fun and games with 55 participants and 15 guardians from Diasporahaus Bietenhausen, headed towards the Swabian mountains.
On the first day, we visited the Blaubeuren prehistoric history museum. After a museum tour, the kids aged 5-10 were able to showcase their crafting skills by making a little belt pouch.
The young people went for a walk into the Brillenhöhle with a museum employee, where they got a bit of insight into hunting techniques around 25,000 years ago by practising spear throwing.
They slept overnight in teepees, Tuareg tents or in Mongolian yurts. The fun was supported by Nicole Schanz, who was present over the three days for all items on the agenda. Under her guidance, everyone made jewellery out of soapstone. On the two days that followed, the kids went for a walk, as well as a ride, with horses and mules, visit the glass production plat at Alb Gold, and go full throttle on a dry toboggan run.
It was three action-packed days for the participants, which allowed them to forget about daily life and leave their worries behind.
