Angle valves, combination angle valves and device connection valves provide the connection between the pipe installation and the tapping point or the connected device.
They allow the water supply to be interrupted and can also be used to regulate the flow rate. The classic angle valve is used to connect the outlet fitting to a washbasin or kitchen sink and can also be used with surface-mounted cisterns. Special versions combine the device connection valve and angle valve in a single fitting, which is called a combination valve or combination angle valve. Appliance connection valves are used to connect appliances, such as dishwashers or washing machines, to the mains supply. They allow the water supply to be interrupted when required, for example when the machine is not needed.
An appliance connection valve 1/2 inch has an external thread that can be screwed into a corresponding pipe connection in the wall. However, especially in old buildings or when rooms are used differently, there is often no separate connection for a dishwasher or washing machine. The combination of appliance connection valve and angle valve makes it possible to retrofit this kind of connection in the kitchen or bathroom. The existing angle valve is simply exchanged for the combi-angle valve, without major conversion work. The device can then be connected with a 3/4 inch screw connection.
Another connection option is available for connecting the tap or the outlet fitting with a suitable thread or with pinch screwing. A 3/8 inch appliance connection valve can be installed between an existing angle valve with corresponding screw connection and the connected outlet fitting. Comb-angle valves with integrated backflow preventer and tube aerator prevent contaminated service water from being sucked back into the pipe network from a connected device. This could happen, for example, in the event of a sudden pressure drop, which would lead to contamination of drinking water with contaminated water from washing machines or dishwashers. Where angle valves are visible, for example in the bathroom or WC, an attractive designer angle valve is recommended.
